In chapter 4 we have been exploring different strategies to solve multiplication problems. Although the kids are encouraged to use whatever strategy works best for them, it is important that they start to memorize the facts through 12 x 12. I encourage the kids to practice for at least 10 minutes each night. I have included links to some good websites to help the kids practice. However, any spare minute in the car, on the bus, or just while hanging out at home is a great opportunity to quiz themselves or have someone else quiz them. The sooner they memorize the facts the easier the new math concepts will be during the rest of the year.
