Here is a fantastic link to free online books for your child to read along with: : http://www.tcpclibrary.org/tumblebooks.htm
This website has a variety of genres and activities to choose from and the best part is that it's free and you don't need a library card. Just click on the link, and then click on the blue rectangle icon at the top. Remember, the time your child is listening to stories is minutes they can count towards the Title Reading Contest each month! Enjoy!
We had our Winter AIMSweb assessment this week and the kids did fantastic. Every single child made fantastic growth!
The best way to help your child increase their reading fluency, accuracy, and comprehension is to encourage fun and enjoyable reading time. Let them read magazines, cereal boxes, video clips, and/or books they WANT to read. It's so much more enjoyable if they choose the books they want to read. I wouldn't want Barnes and Noble to tell me what books I have to read! Our children are the same way. Together, we need to develop the love of reading and the rest will be easy!
Let me know if you have any questions!
